The "ART & HEALING" Pen Women Retreat on Sunday, March 2 was attended by ten Pen Women and ten "Friends of Pen Women." Here are some comments.

Retreats like Art & Healing will get me where I want to go ......."writing"! When is the next? - Ute Regan

Mahalo Nui Loa to Elsha; and to Cathy Song and Timothy Ojile. We had a blast!... and an emotionally healing, artistic day. I can't wait for some of these poems and paintings to be shared with all of us. So many talented people, I was humbled, in awe and a bit intimidated, and now have some wonderful new friends!! Aloha kakou, - Heidi L. Bornhorst

The Art and Healing workshop was very instructive and interesting. As a painter, I loved coming together with the writers, and being among so many talented and creative women, seeing how they approached the subjects and used their materials. A lovely day! - Bette Daniels

Thank you Elsha for organizing it all! It was a great day of playing with paint and interacting with other interesting women. It was amazing to hear the deeply emotional poems people wrote and shared. I decided my students needed to paint more too so both my fifth grade classes and kindergarten classes painted yesterday and today. I showed them my big paintings from the workshop and gave them the biggest paper we have and they had a great time exploring the qualities of paint. Aloha, - Liz Train

A stirring day of words and paint, a great day. Thank you. Expansive, challenging, emotional, interactive intimate, and delightful. - Sabra Rae Feldstein

Dear Elsha: Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to offer such a great weekend for us! It was inspiring, releasing (stress) and I was surprised of the emotions it brought out in me! I was totally amazed by the talent of the poets, WOW are they good!!!!!!!! Listening to their poems would have been worth the weekend. Thank you, Mahalo and Dankeschoen!!! Thanks again for letting me be a part of this, I feel thrilled and honored! Aloha kakou, - Ria Keltz-Remenar
The fire in the rose emerged that day. - Carol Catanzariti
